Young and Restless

You are not young forever...although some may think that they will never grow old. Recently I have taken a whole new perspective on life and how short it truly is. I need to live for the now and not waste my life away with stupid things. When I spent the whole summer in San Diego, on a missions trip, I learned so much and grew a lot as a person. I experienced a lot of excitement.  My whole life I have been sheltered and was always afraid to go out and experience the world and step out of my comfort zone. But with a little taste of the world, I want to experience it more while doing the work of the Lord.

I am only young once. This is the time of my life where opportunities like going on missions trips are obtainable. Once I move into my own place, graduate from college, get my first real job, and get married....the opportunities are slim. When you get into life and settle down that is when you get heavily involved with your community and home church. This is why I want to go to East Asia and San Diego. It only seems logical.

God has given me a gift. That gift is the gift of evangelism.  When I talk about Christ and share his love its like something inside me revives my heart back to life. I would be a fool to keep this to myself and to the people whom live around me. God has called me to higher places to reach the people whom he loves but do not even know him yet. The Son of Man came to seek to save the lost. I should be doing the same thing. I do not know where the Lord is going to lead me this summer or even over spring break. What I do know is that I want to be serving the Lord in different place while I have no strings attached.

Dressing for the Battle

In this day in age the enemy knows everything about us. He knows our weakness and our strength. But he chooses to attack our weak spots. This is why it is important to dress properly for the constant battle we face day to day. We do not need to go onto the battlefield by ourselves with no protection. In times when we feel as if there is no fight left inside of us, the Lord gives use His Holy Spirit and His strength will be our strength. His mighty armor will guard our hearts from the fiery arrows of the enemy. Through His Holy Spirit you will find the passion and power to step out in faith and face any spiritual giant that comes against you. Your battles can and will be won by the Lord God Almighty.

You might be asking yourself....what do I need for this battle that you speak of..... Ephesians 6:10-20 says "Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefor take up the WHOLE ARMOR OF GOD, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all to stand firm. Stand therefore, having fastened on the BELT of TRUTH, and having put on the BREASTPLATE of RIGHTEOUSNESS, and as SHOES for your feet, having put on the READINESS given by the GOSPEL OF PEACE. In all circumstances take up the SHIELD of FAITH, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; and take the HELMET of SALVATION, and the SWORD of the SPIRIT, which is the WORD OF GOD, praying at all times in the spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints, and also for me, that words may be given to me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains, that I may declare it boldly, as I ought to speak."

This is a great verse that shows us that we are not alone. If only we let Christ in to fight our fight for us because we are weak.  I pray that we will fight this good fight and feel Him cover us with His glorious armor! I hope that you will keep yourself protected under His love, that you will be victorious over every attack the enemy tries to tear you down with and that you will not back down until this battle is wont. May you find joy in knowing that you are in God's army! All darkness will flee as you walk in the light of the Lord.

Go in the power of the Spirit and walk in Him to Victory!!!!

Finals are Here!!!

Today day is the day.....well it really starts tomorrow for finals BUT this week is finals week! Most people when they hear this start to freak out and some....well their heart skips a beat because of the fear of all the test to come. For me...well I have come to realize (after all these years Ive been alive (20)) a test is just a test. My life does not depend on some stupid number or letter grade a teacher gives me. Sure your G.P.A helps with scholarships, getting into a college, or being in some type of clubs on campus. After you are threw with this season of you life of education that score does not matter. I understand some of the stress but put it in the hands of someone whom is in control. God commands us  in Philippians 4: 6-7 "DO NOT be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Jesus Christ." Isn't that awesome that we do not need to worry or be stressed out about anything ever again?!!?!? Give it to the Lord in prayer! If we do this Philippians tells us that the peace of God will be with us. It will guard our hearts and minds. God wants us to have peace in our lives. Even during finals week.
So during this week of constant studying and trying to make the grade... remember...Christ wants to be apart of your life. He wants to know your worries, the stress you are going threw. He wants to give you peace! Have a blessed day!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

If you live in Wayne, NE or anywhere close you prlly looked out your window this morning with a shocked look on your face with all the snow, unless you watch the news and knew it was going to snow. The crazy thing about Nebraska weather is one day it will be nice then the next it will change completely! Yesterday was such a nice day. All you needed was a light jacket. Now today I will be putting on my winter jacket, gloves, a scarf, a hat, and my hood up so I don't freeze on my way to work tonight. Whenever snow falls it always gives me the feeling of Joy because I know Christmas is just around the corner. But I tend to only like snow if I can enjoy it inside and not have to go out in the freezing cold. :) If this world was perfect, in my eyes, it would only snow on Christmas eve and Christmas day. Not the crazy blizzard snow but the calm snow that falls straight down to the ground with big snow flakes. But this is not a perfect world, nor is it mine so that doesn't happen often.
I really wish I was home right now because I know what my mom would do in this situation of snow falling....she would make me hot chocolate....which is always the best! :) I am so thankful for Christmas because it is the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and I can't even image what Mary was thinking or even going through at this time in her life. She had to have a lot of faith to listen to the God and be obedient. The same goes with Joesph. He has a choice to publicly show her to the people and they would have stoned Mary for being pregnant outside of marriage but he was a man of the Lord and followed the Angle of the Lord.
This brings me to mind about my faith and if I am following the Lord in every aspect in my life. Am I really listening closely for the Lords voice and being obedient? It makes me ponder what plans He has for me if I would only take the time and listen and rely on him to see me through. The new year is coming up and I am preparing my heart to go anywhere He leads with no question!!! Just image if we all would do the same! What would this world be like? Will you take part with me and lets be ambassadors for Christ Jesus this up coming year. Lets change this world one person at a time!

How Great is Our God?

Have you ever really thought about how big God truly is? I have always came up with crazy questions about God such as, Why would God send Jesus to die on a cross for  us then we somehow think its all about us when we aren't even the center of our own Galaxy! Its just so crazy and how truly amazing our Lord and Savior is! :) I am so blessed to know the one true King!
One thing that God is really teaching me is that it is okay not to have everything figured out. I have always been the type of person to have my whole life planned out and steps in order to accomplish that. But God always steps in and tells me that His plans for me are way better than I have for myself and I could never image it. It really takes a load off my shoulders knowing that I don't have to be the planner. I have the Creator of everything plan my life. I know He always has my best interest!
My challenge for you today is to look at your life and see what you are holding back from God. Are there any areas in your life that you are stressed or uncertain about? The best thing you can do is give it up to the one who will take care of you in any situation. This is defiantly harder than it seems. My future for me right now is so uncertain. I don't know where I will even be at next semester but what I do know is if I let go and let God....He will show up and He will provide! :)

Dead Week!

This whole week is dead week or study week. Your suppose to spend all week studying for finals and teachers are not suppose to test you or give you any new information for the final. Sound easy to get an A on your final right? Nope! Teachers are still giving us new information and some of my friends had test already this week. Even tho this doesn't seem fair...its really not that bad! :) If just another test. A week from today will be my first final. I only have 3 finals. A sewing final, sociology, and foods class. Not that big of a deal! :) I am really excited to go home for Christmas and bake a whole bunch of stuff and spend time with my family!!! For the rest of the day I am going to eat lunch with my friend Michelle and then we are going to go share our faith with students here on campus. Its going to be a great experience and learning time. I know the Lord will bless our efforts. Then I have my sewing class which I have a lot of Christmas presents to finish! :)) Then its off to work at the amazing Runza!! I only work short shift so its not too bad! Hope your having a great day! Remember in this time of stress of finals and of Christmas shopping and getting ready for family to come over, YOU ARE TOO BLESSED TO BE STRESSED! :)

Winter has begun!! Some say exciting but others...well not so much. I admire the people who really know how to get into the Christmas spirit. For me, my mom calls me the Grinch! I don't like to put up the Christmas tree. That statement usually shocks people.I would rather put up Christmas lights outside than have to touch the tree. It seems like when I would have to put of the tree it was never really good at it and I'm not very patient with it as well. So in other words, Ill let the people who are really talented with tree decorating do their thing and I'll just stay out of their way! :) Today I am already done with classes and have a fun filled day ahead of me. I have homework and studying to accomplish this afternoon before my wonderful boyfriend comes and visits me. Tonight I have a lot planned. Our campus is having a winter wonder land night. There will be caroling, tree lighting, Mr. & Mrs. Clause, sleigh rides, and games!! Oh and Campus Crusade is tonight so we will be going to that as well. Then afterwords there is a black and white dance that should fun! The college is always really busy with activities. There really is no reason to be bored. Through all of are crazy activities and meetings its so easy to forget the true meaning of Christmas...its all because of a little baby. The King of Kings, Jesus! :)
